Caring for your leather guitar strap

Vegetable-tanned leather initially will feel stiff, yet quickly yields to a soft and pliable touch with use. This tanning process uses a high concentration of natural oils and fats and requires very little maintenance. With normal use, a light coating of saddle soap once a year is all that is needed.

Our straps are made from full-grain hides, a natural material in which slight grain variations and scratches are inherent. These are signs that the hides were not altered in any way. In fact, they highlight the caliber of a leather unmasked by sanding, varnishing, and waxes. The beauty of a natural material such as leather is that it will change slightly in character with use. This is what makes our straps unique and personalized.

We use leather exclusively from the Santa Croce Sull’Arno region in Italy. Vegetable-tanned leather is not only a material that is completely biodegradable, and is also produced responsibly in association with the regulations established by the Vegetable Tanning Consortium of Italy.
